Data Collection

dicfr does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All data stays on your device.

What is stored locally

The following data is stored in your browser's IndexedDB and never leaves your device:

• Dictionary database (downloaded once from GitHub)
• Word lookup history (words you searched)
• Learning progress (if imported from dicfr cards)

Network requests

dicfr makes network requests only to download the dictionary database from GitHub Releases. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party services.

Permissions

• Host permissions (all URLs): Required to show word definitions on any webpage you visit.
• Storage: Used to persist download preferences.
• Alarms: Used to keep the download alive during the one-time dictionary download.
